Our writers take your through how England’s players rated (out of 10) in the 2-1 victory over Turkey.
We also give them a mark based on their prospects for Euro 2016 – if they are certain starters for Roy Hodgson, likely to be a squad player, or facing an anxious wait to see if they make the final 23-man squad.
Joe Hart
Organising that back four is an unenviable task. Made some tidy stops – and one sensational save in stoppage time – but misjudged a cross for Turkey’s goal. 6.
Euro star? Set to start
England's Joe Hart celebrates after Jamie Vardy scored their second goal - Reuters
Made an incredible last-ditch block to deny a certain goal in the first half, but was lucky Hart spared his blushes after his woeful pass gave Turkey one late chance. 6.
Euro star? In the squad.
Gary Cahill
Has an alarming tendency to back off into his penalty area, but was solid enough as captain. 6.
Euro star? Set to start.
John Stones
Overcomplicated things at times, but wasn’t punished. Still, he seems like a disaster waiting to happen and Chris Smalling’s return is inevitable. 6.
Euro star? In the squad.
Danny Rose
One of the more fortunate beneficiaries of a "Man of the Match" award. Impressed going forward, but was partially at fault for opening goal. 6.
Euro star? Set to start.
Eric Dier
Nothing flashy, but that’s not required in shielding the defence. Tidy with the ball and not caught out positionally.
Euro star? Set to start
Jack Wilshere
Made his first start for England since June 2015, and perhaps not yet at full fitness. Gave a relatively forgettable performance and was subbed in the 66th minute: he’ll need to fit in as many minutes on the pitch as possible in the coming friendlies if he’s to prove worthy of selection. 7.
Euro star? Nervous wait.
Dele Alli
Moment of magic set up Kane's opening goal, put himself about in the tackle and was sharp on the break. Must surely be a starter either at No 10 or elsewhere.
Euro star? Set to start.
Raheem Sterling
It was a disappointing game off the back of a disappointing season for the midfielder, who looked like he was lacking confidence and ultimately subbed with 18 minutes to go. 5.
Harry Kane
It was a mixed game for Kane who despite giving England the lead in the first five minutes, also missed a penalty as well as making a succession of ill-advised shots. 7.
Nonetheless, he demonstrated the hunger that has seen him win the Premier League’s Golden Boot this season and is undeniably the best striker at Hodgson’s disposal.
Euro star? Sure to Start
Jamie Vardy
Vardy presents something of a headache for Hodgson: if he plays two strikers, Vardy should definitely start, but when he’s played on the left as part of a trio - as he was for the first half of this game - he struggles to make an impact. 7
Euro star? In the squad.
Substitutes Jordan Henderson
Got more game-time under his belt after injury, if he can get back to full match fitness, stands a chance of starting, whichever system Hodgson chooses to use. 6.
Euro star? In the squad.
Danny Drinkwater
The fact he started on the bench behind Wilshere and Dier does not bode well and didn't do enough when he came on to convince that he should be in the starting XI either. 6.
Euro star? Nervous wait.
