The 19-year-old has been courted by clubs from the Premier League and Bundesliga but Goal understands Los Che are leading the race and could complete a move in the coming days.
As revealed by Goal on May 5, the 19-year-old forward has been attracting interest from the Premier League and Bundesliga but is set to seal a switch to Valencia after spending the 2015-16 campaign on loan with Liga struggler Sporting Gijon.
Goal understands the deal will be a permanent transfer although with a buyback clause inserted, with Barca having the option to re-sign Halilovic after two years, before then having first option over the player for a further two years.
Valencia is hoping to reach an agreement at an initial 7 million euros ($7.9 million), with a buyback clause of €20M ($22.7M), although Barca is holding out for a higher initial fee in the region of €12M ($13.6M), as well as a lower €15M ($17M) repurchase figure.

Negotiations are underway, however, and both sides hope a deal can be concluded before Sunday's Copa del Rey final between Barca and Europa League finalist Sevilla.
Reports in Spain have suggested that Sporting Gijon, for whom Halilovic featured 36 times in the league in 2015-16, was keen on extending the Croatia international's stay, but Barca wants the forward to feature for a club higher up the ladder.
