Carlo Ancelotti tells Chelsea they can have Mario Gotze for £35 million
Chelsea can snap up German World Cup winner Mario Gotze for £35 million, according to the Sun. Incoming Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly told the club he used to manage that Gotze is for sale, as he does not have the German in his plans for next season. Liverpool are also interested in Gotze's services due to his close relationship with former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp, but it's believed the tip off from Ancelotti has given Chelsea a head start. It's also believed that the Blues are ready to spend around £100m in the summer to overhaul their squad, which won't play in Europe next season.
Paper Round's view: Regardless of it being Chelsea or Liverpool landing Mario Gotze, both of them have to get the bottom of why the man who scored the winning goal in the 2014 World Cup final is not performing to standard. £35m is a lot of coin to spend for a player not performing to their abilities, so both better have a plan to get Gotze back on track.
Morata set to leave Juventus and puts Arsenal, Man City on alert
The Mirror are reporting that Juventus gun Alvaro Morata will be heading for the exit, with Manchester City and Arsenal scrambling to get his signature. The report says that since Morata was a Real Madrid product, they can profit from the sale via a buyback clause by turning around and selling Morata to either Arsenal or City. Madrid president Florentino Perez inserted a £33m release clause into his deal, but could purchase him back from Juventus for as little as £25m, to then on-sell him to interested parties for £40m.

Paper Round's view: Aside from the fact Real Madrid are just going to calmly flip one of the developing stars in world football to another club, City and Arsenal have every right to be falling over themselves to sign him. Morata's technique is elite, and with more experience and confidence he's set to become world class.
Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino handed £60m war chest
Spurs are set to go on a summer shopping spree, with newly re-signed manager Mauricio Pochettino handed a £60m summer budget by the club according to the Daily Mail. Prime targets for the spending spree include Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi and Mainz winger Yunus Malli. The report also says there's a possibility of Ryan Mason, Nabil Bentaleb and Nacer Chadli all being pursued by other clubs, as Pochettino scrambles to assemble a squad that can handle the rigours of Champions League football.

Paper Round's view: Michy Batshuayi is already turning heads at other Premier League clubs, so Spurs will have to be aggressive in their pursuit of him. Considering Pochettino is always on the look out for players on the cusp of playing their best football, this transfer kitty won't be so haphazardly thrown away like the Bale money was under Andre Villas Boas.
Everton will aggressively target Ronald Koeman to replace Roberto Martinez
Southampton's Dutch mastermind Ronald Koeman is atop Everton's managerial shopping list, according to the Daily Mail. As Roberto Martinez was sacked on Thursday, the search begins for a new boss as the club intends to become more ruthless under its new shareholder Farhad Morshiri. While Ronald Koeman has a year left on his Southampton contract and tops the list of candidates, Ajax's former boss Frank de Boer in strong contention for the job. Everton postponed their end-of-season awards to make the announcement that Martinez had been sacked, topping off what has been an ordinary year for the Merseyside club.

Paper Round's view: It's pretty clear that with Koeman and de Boer being on Everton's radar, the club still want attractive football but not at the expense of a rigid structure. Martinez's constant refusal to make more pragmatic changes to the way his team played, eventually ended up wasting the club's season and costing him his job.
