Theo Walcott says he is disappointed to miss out on Euro 2016 but respects the decision of England manager Roy Hodgson.
Walcott tweeted shortly after the squad had been announced - with his name omitted.
He said: "I am of course disappointed not to make the squad, but I have spoken with Roy and respect his decision.
"I wish Roy and all the team the best of luck for a successful Euros."
Walcott had missed out on the Arsenal squad for the weekend's match against Aston Villa with what was understood to be a hamstring injury.
Fitness issues plus the competition for places have restricted Walcott's domestic appearances this season.
Hodgson said in his press conference following the squad announcement that he was not keen to pick players who were not fully match fit.
